They are gentle giants (6'8 1/2" and 6' 6 1/2") like their dad!Carol Ann Weaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13676125721105006155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199367098526365458.post-24532719058587434632008-02-02T11:35:00.000-08:002008-02-02T11:35:00.000-08:00You are very welcome, Cherie.BTW, Laura and Susann...You are very welcome, Cherie.

BTW, Laura and Susanne, he did seem to just be concerned about the trouble they had caused rather than the act.Carol Ann Weaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13676125721105006155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199367098526365458.post-91051233177103177202008-02-02T07:35:00.000-08:002008-02-02T07:35:00.000-08:00Thank you Carol for clearing that up. They are a descendant of Ham via the Canaan line, and we know that line was cursed by Noah. ("So he said, 'Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants he shall be to his brothers.'" Genesis 9:25).

We hear this mentioned again in Joshua 24:32 and Judges 9:28. They are one of the seven main people groups still in the country when Joshua comes to take over Canaan.

Hope that helps!Carol Ann Weaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13676125721105006155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199367098526365458.post-67581468176356666242008-02-01T06:26:00.000-08:002008-02-01T06:26:00.000-08:00I'm confused about something. Where do Hamor and Shechem fit in?

CherieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199367098526365458.post-3268879789089498322008-01-31T22:47:00.000-08:002008-01-31T22:47:00.000-08:00I noticed what Laura noticed: Jacob seemed far mor...I noticed what Laura noticed: Jacob seemed far more concerned with the consequences of their actions than the morality of their actions. He concern (at least the one recorded here) was that their act had brought trouble on him, by making him odious among the land's inhabitants. He was afraid now that the people would gather together and destroy his household. That's certainly a valid fear, but where is the remorse over the character of his sons? As you said, they learned deceit from their father, and Jacob still does not seem concerned with character. Deceit (and murder) is not the issue so much as the consequences. At least by the end of his life, his "blessing" for them shows that he sees their anger (as well as the results) as a problem.LauraLizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16720919292792180391noreply@blogger.com
