BACKGROUND

After they disobeyed the Lord and made an attempt to enter the Promised Land, the Israelites began their 40 years of wilderness wanderings. In this chapter, further instruction were given regarding the offerings, a man was put to death for breaking the Sabbath day, and they were directed to make tassels on their garments to remember to be holy to the LORD their God, who had brought them out of the Egypt to be their God.

REFLECTION

Here is an interesting article on the blue tassels from Jews for Jesus:

PRAYER

Lord, we may not have blue tassels today but set us apart as holy for Your glory. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.

More holiness! I want to be set apart. The desire to please you does in fact please you (Merton).
